All you need to do is sit in a coffee shop and focus on the pressure exerted on your body by the chair. Grab your coffee and concentrate on the movement of your hand. Taste the sip and feel it as it goes down your esophagus. Listen to sounds from your environment, such as cars, horns, dialogue, a child crying, the sound of a sandwich being wrapped. Can you feel them all at once? Feel everything around you intensely. To feel life, both intensely and tiringly.
Welcome to the spectrum!!!
This is how a person on the autism spectrum feels. He feels and perceives them differently than us regulars. That doesn't mean it's wrong. The fault lies in our behavior, because we should also understand what the stimuli of the environment mean for these people.
Many times they experience contempt, bullying, mockery, disrespect. Words pushed aside, souls buried in sorrow...
I know that they are in their world, that they are not often sociable, they do not like to look into the eyes, they do not withstand many noises, they are compulsively regular, they live for the program, they do not like to be touched, and it is what you would unknowingly call "crazy". But know, if you remove the entrenched perception of fear towards the different, you will get to know a person different from the typical ones.
-He will be a real friend
-He won't lie to you
-Will not perceive the dilemma itself
-He will always be cruelly honest
- He will make you experience what a hug is like
- He has an incredible ability to concentrate
-You will never see the world with the same eyes again
The next time you see someone closing their ears, listen to the sounds around you. If he can't look you in the eye, accept that his brain processes too many stimuli in the environment. If he doesn't tolerate touching, understand that your touch may be intense for him. If he doesn't want to eat the food at all, know that some textures or flavors are painful for him.
You mom and dad, that your child is on the spectrum. I want to tell you that I feel you. I also felt a tingling in my spine. If you feel guilty, peel them off and make orangeade... Love this guilt and you will see the miracle. It has alienated people who think autism sticks like the flu. Don't let anyone make you feel bad about your child. There are many great minds on the autism spectrum. Yes, I know what it's like not to talk. Crises are tedious. Of course, I thought I'd give up, but I didn't. After three years, you won't call it a night out. That's a habit. Accept that he has an opinion from his mother's belly.
If you don't know what to do, it starts with a feeling of total acceptance and then you will find your way.
